Douglas Tires Complaint

I bought a tire from walmart douglas p175/70r13bw x-trac for my 97 nissan sentra miles on my at time 172554, I had a blow out tuesday morning going only 35 mrh . I went back to Wal-Mart and talk to a young boy in the auto dept. he tooked at my original ticket and told me there was nothing he could do ,I did not Purchase the "extened road warranty" . also told me I had 10,000.00 miles on that tire, ask me if I bought a new tire already , told him yes , I had to have one , my care wont run on 3 tires !I was told the warrany is only good for 3000 miles that tire was a 45,000 mile tire , if your product is only warranted for 3000 miles put your mother in a car with 4 of them . how good yould you feel about that

I never buy anything because of the warranty, and I never buy extended waranties or service contracts, because in my experience they are rarely worth the paper and ink used to write them and my failures are almost always not covered. The Douglass tires are pretty much the cheapest tires in the store, and at Wal-Mart, that's saying something. As the old saying goes, "Ya puts down your money and ya takes your chances". This statement couldn't be more true when your going cheap on something. Don't get me wrong, I'm cheap and admit it, but you have to look at each situation and decide for yourself, will I be ok with lossing big if this fails early? Most of the time I'm ok with it, because I find that I win more than I lose by going cheap. I say, if the car is eight or more years old, 90,000 miles or more, not the main family car or primarily driven by your wife or teenagers, go for it! If it doesn't fall into these catagories, spend alittle more and go into a mid priced, mid quality product, you'll still satisfy your cheap nerves but have some piece of mind as well!

My 1956515 x-tracs have been a pleasant suprise. They ride as smooth as glass even after 38,000 trouble-free tires. They beat the heck out of the Kuhmos that only lasted 35,000 miles and rode badly. I wish they made X tracs for my full size truck. Would not hesitate to buy them.

I had 2 douglas tires put on my car and they do make a crap load of noise.did not have this problem with the other tires on it.I believe they are inferior tires.I will be replacing them with a brand name tire. Also a bubble on sidewall.live and learn,I will pay more for better tires.

My son got a bubble on the "inside" of one of his doglas tires from Wal-Mart. They told him that he didn't have road hazard insurance & they would not fix it. The bubble is a manufacturer problem not something the road caused.

I bought 4 tires at wal-mart the next day the car whole car was shaking very bad then I found out that all of the tires at wal-mart were bad and the people at the auto service all knew that they were when we asked them about it,but any way this is very bad business to endanger other peoples lives this way.

If it was a manufacturing issue then it is covered, a road hazard is not covered by the manufacturer.
